Costume Design Workshop

Costume design workshop

With thanks to the State Government through the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries, and the City of Albany we held a one day workshop in costume design.

Participants were guided through the process of receiving a costume brief, selecting materials, design principals, and then presenting their designs to others for feedback.

This workshop was lead by professional artist Ashley Whiting.

With thanks to Fossiker’s Tip Shop and the City of Albany we help a one week workshop at the Fossiker’s Tip Shop where participants took part in a range of activities to produce the props and sets needed for Moana Jr. All materials for this workshop were sourced from the tip.

The final products created from the workshop included the Lalotai monsters, ocean backdrop, three green islands, the ancestors headpieces, ancient sail boat sails, heart of Tefiti, paper mache coconuts, and Maui’s hook.

This workshop was lead by professional teaching artists and included mentoring for our young technical crew.

Audition Preparation Workshop

Audition Preparation Workshop

With thanks to the State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, and the City of Albany we held three two hour workshops designed to prepare auditionees for the upcoming Moana Jr auditions.

Participants were taken through a vocal and physical warm up, learned a short dance combination, learned the audition song “How Far I’ll Go”, and learned some basic techniques for presenting the best audition possible.

This workshop was lead by professional teaching artists and included mentoring for one young artist.
